Yes, this is a real story. https://sports.yahoo.com/no-black-players-world-series-150524057.html With no Black players in World Series, ex-Reds manager Dusty Baker 'ashamed of the game' The media is actually running this story. Can these people be any more divisive and any bigger liars. The story doesnt quite work when the facts come out. Game 2 Starting Pitcher For Houston
Dusty must be racist against his own team. Houston is known for having a lot of players from South America and they are very, very good. Dusty is the one who determines if they start the game or not. Dusty should be ashamed of himself, I guess? He does seem to be a whiner. Valdez is from the Dominican Republic. I don't think he is Black?
they are trying to distinguish between Black latino players(foreign) of which there are numerous and Black American players which I guess there are none... it is pretty stupid. I am sure all Dusty Baker cares about his winning his first WS as a coach.
Don't let pesky truthful details get in the way of a stupid story. I thought it was funny an earlier article said "no African Americans". Really? We're just going to do the whole continent dirty like that?
Well then the 'journalist' should have made that distinction. Even if he did, I am not sure he has much of point. Why would this make someone 'Ashamed of the game'? Is he implying that MLB is excluding blacks from the US in favor of blacks from Latin America? It certainly sounds that he believes there is some underhandedness going on that make him ashamed to be part of MLB. It sounds like there are many blacks in the game and it makes no sense that some racist would say Latin American blacks are good, blacks born in the US are bad. In conclusion, this is just more race baiting by the media and it is becoming ludicrous.
Yeah, Cuddles they did them dirty. They are supposed to say 'Hey we are going to cut you and replace you with a player who is of lesser caliber because we need an North American born black on the team. Our team is going to be worst of because of it, we are going to lose more games because of it, we will miss the playoffs or wont advance as far because of it, but hey we dont want to do anyone dirty"
Dusty had a question thrown at him that was phrased pretty poorly and he was on the spot so his answer was poor. No one of any substance thinks minorities are under represented in the MLB. In fact I think 99% of intelligent people asked would admit that an athletic Black kid is playing football, basketball and soccer before they would consider baseball and that really is not going to change much. There is nothing wrong with that and pointing it out is just stupid as you said.
