https://bitplastic.com/?refid=1746 As someone who likes to travel, I thought this is going to be the future. You put bitcoins on your card, and then you go to any ATM in the world bam...there's your money. The only thing I don't like about this is that you can only spend $1,000 per day, and only withdraw $200 at an ATM. (I'm sure mastercard is the one that imposed those restrictions on them) The cost of getting the card is pretty high too. .2 btc. I really like the idea though.
Michael Moriarty, eh? Yeah, that's sounds really secure. You'd have to be insane to load anything on that card.
Why would you say that? I havent found anything negative on bitplastic or michael moriarty. True you should be careful especially with bitcoin, but its not like you would load your entire lifesavings of bitcoins into that thing. I mean its a fast convenient way to turn your bitcoins into cash. How long would it take you to get cash from Mt. gox? Weeks! With a debit card, you just send your bitcoins to it, wait for the confirmation, then spend your money in minutes. But if you have heard something bad about this guy, let us know.
Will you still like the idea when they put bitcoins money (or other virtual global "currency") in an RFID chip and implant it in your forehead or arm and make you a permanent slave ? Google or youtube for rfid chip implants.
Gulp... This is awful. Only very sick minded people could want to make such thing a reality. Thanks for educating us.
Oh c'mon, how much stays hot? He could walk away with millions. What value is convenience if you can't put more than a BTC or two in there due to the risk of this guy clearing the books with a few keystrokes.
No matter what, you have to keep your bitcoins protected. Just like with cash. For instance...You wouldn't walk around with your entire life savings in your back pocket. No, you walk around with $100 bucks or so in case some mugger comes along and robs you, or you lose your wallet at the grocery store. You should always keep the vast majority of your bitcoins somewhere safe and trustworthy, preferably a paper wallet and just transfer out as you need them. So with something like this, you should just load it as you need it. maybe a few hundred bucks at a time.
