Russians have been shelling the Zaporozhie Nuclear Reactor all day. It is reported that it is on fire right now. Firemen cannot approach since the shelling continues.
A potential six Chernobyls. Brilliant military tactic. Brilliant political move. Brilliant economic enhancement. Sarcasm alert. Perhaps NATO and others concerned about Russian aggression should simply wait them out instead of immediately responding while improving our capabilities.
Well the chances of anything blowing up is low. It is supposedly well designed. Still - a fire at a nuclear plant is not good news.
it shows Russian aggression. The country will be out of a significant amount of power for a long time. This war will be a proper war.
Well, everyone was waiting while the Russians were occupying Georgia, while, their private military squads, were smashing Syrian rebels arms with hammers, and even at the fist days of invasion into Ukraine, nations were - waiting. Waiting for what, - our turn ? Does it really look like that regime ,,will get better" any time soon. The trend, looks different. The capabilities of NATO, for a long time by now, is far beyond the Russians. Their technology is outdated. Morale is questionable. Their ,,Leaders" - tyrons & mafia.
We are behind in some weapons systems and are extremely vulnerable defensively. NATO countries need to harden their infrastructure while providing training and resources to those willing to fight for Ukraine and perhaps those related to other recently acquired Russian lands. The marriage of eager fighters, insurgency specific technology, technique, and resources for insurgency warfare will be the foundation of bringing down Russia if they continue on their present path, whether nuclear or not. Economic sanctions against Russia over time along with harassing attacks on their infrastructure by partisans will cause Russia to fail economically, fall behind technologically, and to divert otherwise productive people to defense. Further, quality of life for Russian people will decline, causing increasing civil unrest including protests. Was is Putin going to do? Put everybody in jail? The US has a massive number of people who own firearms, many of whom are ex-military and retired police who can be activated to protect against sabotage. We can accelerate anti-missile defense system development and look to efficiently militarize private vehicles such as SUVs, civil aircraft, and civil boats. Creating cross platform, cross class, and extra-class parts compatibility will allow us to multiply our defensive and even offensive capabilities at relatively little extra cost. A side benefit to doing this would be increased innovation and more efficient cross training. Further, we would be better prepared for natural disasters and even supply chain bottlenecks. I have much more specific information to share on this, but work beckons soon.
It's sounds good & all of it all can be done, while providing the arms to the Ukraine. Like mentioned before, if there's one thing that Russians managed to show off, - it's that their military, is not as powerfull as we used to think.
A key aspect of winning wars is the concept of “Economy of force”. Having a large combined economy helps as well, off course. The beauty of arming partisans with modern weapons and developing technology to exploit vulnerabilities is lowered cost of taking out military hardware. Imagine being able to take out a tank or armored vehicle, or even a infrastructure target for say, $20.00? Of course, this could be done to us. However, if we play to our strengths, such as our larger population and utilized resources, we will inevitably wear Russia down. The big picture will prevail: Most of the world against Russia versus Russia against Ukraine. As a side note, very low population density with very high resource Russia must always keep a keen eye on very high population density and resource hungry China. China has been known throughout its long history to make “Practical” decisions. Putin needs to change course and throw away his losing hand. If not for our global community, if not for Ukrainian lives, if not for the lives of the Russian military, if not for the quality of life for his people, for himself.
basing on the military campaigns in the Middle East, it indicates US Forces were better managed than Russia's; probably, Putin's generals are high on weed
I think, it's kinda too late. Lost UN while he was prezident, and now messed up again. Even more. Was reading the other day. ,,Carl G", ,,Gustaff" or ,,Ge-re-a-ge", portable Swedish anti tank system, newest version model 4 - 15kg (down from 20 kg). System price $20 000. Max rounds usage - 1 000 shots per system 6 shots max per individual soldier / per day Single round price range - $500 / $3000 So, for few mils, enough of great anti tank guns, for a large city.
