https://financial-competitions.com Did anyone ever take part in this or other competitions? I am considering to join, but I was wondering if it is worth it. I am mainly using a options long only strategy and, since I am not such a great trader, I don't think that I could stand up against competitors that last year went up as much as 800%. However, I would be happy just with learning new things. Is is worth it?
That's right, some politicians know critical information well in advance. However, it shouldn't be difficult to replicate their performance, sinche the trades they make need to be disclosed within a few days from the transaction. Actually, what I find disturbing of all these competitions is that trades are never fully disclosed. We had in Italy similar competitions which also never made public the winner transactions. Since you could there operate using option-like instruments, where the book was semi-abandoned and with a wide bid/ask spread, in theory it would be possible to get excellent performances just by gaming the system.
That's true. However, there is also a section under 20 K USD, still pricy but with entry fee of $425. However, my main concern is that, although the championship it being played with real money, it could be rigged. Does anyone have any experience on this specific point?
The more important question is, say you win, what benefit do you get? Not sure winning this competition will convince others to give you assets to manage. Winning might help you build a youtube channel though.
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/united-states-investing-championship-2023-131500155.html I won it in 1992 in Futures division, did 214% in long term and few day trades. Scataphagos won a few times. This is really money competition.
