Getting a new PC. Woohoo! What's the best way/best software to transfer all essential files from the old PC to the new PC? Ideas appreciated.
If you are junking the old machine, pull the hard drive and put it in the new machine. Transfer the files to the new drive. Reformat the old drive and then create a backup folder on it. Copy back all of your documents. If the old drive is large enough, Use it as a document/data repository for all your programs. In other words, make it a data drive. Otherwise, add two modem cards and use both machines. You can easily have a game server setup if you choose. Maybe make the old machine your internet machine and thereby adding another level of security for yourself. If you do this, put that data back on your new machine so that any breaches won't have direct data access.
