I noticed that Felix Frey from optionsgeek is giving away for free some videos on his insights based on unusual option activity. https://optionsgeek.com/podcast-episodes/ I guess this will be for a limited time only, since Felix also offers a paid service, where he sells this kind of advice. It seems to me that Felix knows what he is talking about, but following smart money is not simple as it sounds. This topic has been discussed already several times here. Criticisms to this approach were mainly focussed on the fact that you might be looking at only one leg of a rather more complicated position, like in case of a multileg option strategy or the hedging of a big stock position with options. One thing I noticed, while using this approach, is also that it is not always easy to figure out whether the trade was on the bid or on the ask. So, in my experience, some of the predictions on the direction of the movement should have been reversed. I wonder how Felix does his predictions in those cases and if he is always 100% sure about the trade direction. Though, in general, he appears to be a good tape reader and very capable of spotting simple two leg option positions like vertical spreads. I wonder also, in anyone has experience with his or similar services. I hear that TradeAlert is a very respected alternative.
