when you buy and stock plummets right the next second you and every other noob that bought it feels same way
when you sell a stock that has been dead for 5 minutes and it suddenly rockets up
when you are stuck in reverse split and it keeps going down after while you hold
and then that one time you sell after RS it actually goes up.
when you hop into a good mover and it just dies and does nothing for next 4 months and you look away for 5 minutes and it makes that one move you ve been waiting for.

what is the psychology behind this.
is it the noob reaction that is predictable
or is it the manipulators that are really good at what they do to trap noobs into these patterns.

is there a good book about traps?

the consistency with which it happens tells me that its not just random natural occurence.

its obviously planned, since thats the whole point of this game.

    Rationalizing, creating excuses/reasons, blaming,
prevent YOU from understanding and growing.
If YOU do the same thing expecting a different result, YOU are the problem.
What implementation of consistency confuses YOU?

There is no they. There is only YOU.

I always tell everyone to take the opposite of what I do and they will automatically be a millionaire in a few years. Last week after the markets dropped I shorted an inverse etf, as soon as I shorted it a week later the stock jumped over 15%, yes its been trending down for months, I short it and wham it jumps. I haven't sold yet because I know within days or weeks it will be lower than where I bought it, and if anything I'll add to the position

The reason this happens is there are too many speculators in the pool, trying to out paddle each other in their little boats. It just chops up the water and no one gets anywhere.

The solution - get out of the shallow water and into some real currents!

How is this 'knowing' different than the 'knowing' needed to initiate the trade?

    Just pointing out the obvious.

I usually don't link to videos but this video has clips of the hedge fund manager Jim Cramer explaining how he manipulates the markets. He calls them "moron longs." I think this is on point with regards to your question.

What you are describing is called the “victim mentality”.

Traders like this who trade without actually knowing what they’re doing need to overcome their need for excitement otherwise and they become compulsive gamblers.

Unfortunately, such traders don’t consider trading to be gambling, but the fact is that trading without a positive expectancy is just gambling.

Traders like this need to learn to take full responsibility for their result, otherwise they’ll never make it as traders and they’ll continue topping up their losing accounts. They can to lie to themselves about their abilities, but their accounts do not lie.

Unfortunately, they seldom accept these facts, so they end up pissing away their money hoping that one day they’ll come up with the “holy grail”, instead of focusing on getting their own shit together.

Develop and backtest/forward test 3,000 occurances, develop stats so you know every possible answer before the question arrives.

Then you are ready, put a dozen trades on, you will be so active, you just following rules, you won't notice if you are up or down.

You have too much time on your hands to concern yourself with one trade. Of course if you not fully understand the past history, how can one expect the future?

    Good luck
