Feature request: does this poster ignore me before I reply?

Hi Baron... I was participating in this thread and made this post.

    https://www.elitetrader.com/et/thre...to-be-a-day-trader.382924/page-4#post-6090594

Then if your read the further comments, this poster has me on ignore. No problem, doesn't matter. But I realized that if I knew this, I wouldn't have bothered to waste my time to make the reply.

So it got me thinking. If I'm going to reply to what someone said, after clicking the reply button, or highlighting some text and using the "reply" feature that pops up, wouldn't it be good if there was a note that said "This poster is ignoring you!"?

I could now not bother with my reply. Of course I could still reply since other people will see it, or maybe the poster will chose to "show ignored posts", but if I'm a guy who is replying to someone in good faith who I now learn doesn't want to read my posts, it could save me some time.

    What do you think?

I understand where you're coming from, but I think that replying for the benefit of all readers is way more important than not replying at all just because one member has you on his ignore list.

The result of @NoahA replying respectfully to @flash crash was to be insulted in return.
If I were @NoahA I would block @flash crash but that feature has been disbanded unfortunately.

If Flash crash has Noah on ignor then he shouldn't see Noah's reply.

I didn't see his reply and I wouldn't have known nor cared that it was there but another use posted to my journal replying to N's reply. I agree, if a user is on your ignore list they should be blocked from posting to your journal. I don't think that should be for all the forum subdivisions. But why not have a block feature for personal journals?

Funny how some will defend trolling as long as the trolling appears, on the surface, to have been done "politely."

Whiney little brat is what that guy is.

Look at how he was trolling LF over the summer. That's what got him on my ignore list. He deserves not to be heard.

Maybe, but that wasn't my initial experience with him.

Obviously flash crash won't see this since I am blocked by him, but for anyone following along, I wanted to explain what he is getting at here.

From my recollection, I wasn't trolling at all. The only point I was making was that LF was only ever showing the good days, so then it was difficult to get a sense of the viability of his strategy. We used to talk for years, so I found it a shame that things turned sour like this. He spent a lot of time working on his prediction model, as he extensively talked about, so I think its only fair to ask about the times it doesn't work. You will notice that he only posted screenshots of when a trade was already nicely profitable, and he was simply waiting for either the target or trailing stop to hit.

Now anyone is of course free to show as much or as little as they want, but given that we always discussed the fact that most posters on ET are likely not killing it, I would have thought that he wanted to be fully transparent with his results. I think as weeks went by, he was sharing more and more, and even mentioned that the account hadn't gotten to the high point that it had been at weeks ago. So you could infer that those killer days were quite the outlier, and he would often have to get stopped out several times before finally getting into a trade that was taking off, and some days, there was no recovery after multiple stopouts.

I don't consider any of this trolling. I was simply pointing out that you can't just celebrate the wins without taking into account the losses. How often can you get a 1:10 Risk:Reward trade? It would of course be wonderful if we could all put on a trade that either gets a nice profit, or is closed out at break even, but I think the reality is that its a game of many small losses, which hopefully balance out positively with 1 big win. Why this is so difficult to admit, I have no idea, but this is how I saw things.
