    Fauci's "Noble Lies"

Fauci misled the country about mask-wearing during the pandemic by claiming they were of little use. But he argued that he lied so the public would not make a run on masks, deplete the supply, and thus rob medical professionals of protective equipment.

Fauci also told “noble” lies about the likely percentage of the public needing to be vaccinated to achieve herd immunity. He kept raising the bar—from 60 percent to 70 percent to 75 percent to 80 percent, to 85 percent.

Apparently, Fauci feared a lower figure, even if accurate, might lull people into complacency about getting inoculated.

Fauci also lied about his own role in routing U.S. aid money to subsidize gain-of-function viral research at the Wuhan virology lab—the likely birthplace of COVID-19.

Either Fauci was hiding his own culpability, or he believed the American people might not be able to fully accept that some of their own health officials were promoting the sort of research that was partially responsible for more than 700,000 American deaths.

Lies are lies, and can't really blame people who were aware enough of the facts to point out the various lies along the way.

Oh -- how nice an article from Zero Hedge... the Kremlin propaganda outfit.

Let's address the percentage of people that need to be vaccinated. The more infectious a disease the greater the percentage of the population that must be vaccinated to reach herd immunity. The Delta variant of Covid is three times as infectious as the original Covid. Due to this the percentage of the population that must be vaccinated has risen from 70% to 90%. This is how proper science works.

The nonsense being pushed by GOP in recent days about Gain of Function research has already been debunked as misinformation in the other thread. I suggest you go read it and educate yourself.

I read it and responded there. They want their own definition for "gain of function."

Yes... I will note you started that thread as well based on Kremlin propaganda from Zero Hedge. Enjoy your daily helping of "Pravda". Sadly the actual detailed facts -- which have been fully outlined -- don't support your version of "Pravda".

And you can take a deeper dive with the New Republic investigation of ZH...

Is Zero Hedge a Russian Trojan Horse?
The father of the founder of the conspiratorial site filed a criminal complaint against me in Bulgaria. Then things got weird.

Yeah, thats part of the cover but have a gander at the article detailing the criminal charges against the New Republic journalist, in Bulgaria.

Their Wikipedia entry puts them as Bulgarian owned.

It's called a "genetic fallacy". One of the many weak resources that people incapable of refuting an argument with facts and logic use. Not to worry, there's plenty where it came from, not worth too much time.
