Fastest Order Validation?

Discussion in 'Retail Brokers' started by languinethesupercattrader, Feb 3, 2025.

  1. Hey all,

Just wondering what broker has the fastest order validation for options and equities in a margin account?

I remember reading somewhere that IBKR takes like 500MS-1S to validate an order (risk checks, etc...) and was wondering if there was a broker that is faster than that.

Would DMA be the only faster option through DASTrader PRO or something?

    Thanks

I haven't used IB in years, but I doubt they are anything like that slow.

  3. Okay great to know. If you don't mind, who do you currently use as your broker?

I do not have metrics to quote, but we offer Lightspeed Trader, Sterling Trader Pro and EZE EMS and ALL are very fast.

I trade Futures with AMP and Rithmic. Margin at IB is too high for Futures day trading.

Last time I day traded stocks with IB was 2022. My market orders were filled instantly via TWS, did not notice any lag in my fills.

  6. It might be one of these threads that we were fooling around with.

The guys at Ninja Trader claimed to have a VPS close to the guts of the exchange.

    1ms...

i have documented with screen shots that round turns with Rithmic / AMP are in the millisecond range when using brackets.

What am I missing here. languinethesupercattrader asked," Just wondering what broker has the fastest order validation for options and equities in a margin account?" He did not not ask about Futures.

aren't all these risk checks commoditized by now? Any good broker probably uses some vendor software.

  10. Yes, it was that thread - got the speed wrong but seems like it can sometimes still be substantial?

I notice even on my algo set up that once an order it submitted it takes ~1 second to go from blue to green ( meaning the order went from accepted to live).

I use a VPS supposedly near an exchange so I'm not worried about travel time from VPS to IBKR server at the moment, but really just wondering if there are brokers that would validate faster. Correct about not trading Futures robert, I'll check out your recs. but sounds like most brokers will use similar stuff.
