Fascist abuse by sheriff and rent-a-goons at Idaho town hall.

You may want to skip to video of the incident but its important to listen to the presenter/sheriff in the background. Very revealing. The chief of police, not sheriff, denounced this strongly after as a gross constitutional violation, and against a candidate.

She shouted 'Is this a town hall or a lecture?' with just cause it seems. I guess men who attend town halls are usually older but it's a poor showing some didn't protect her. There has to be a higher threshold for voiced dissent in a town hall before calling for force.

The response from actual law enforcement and the community recognises the need for proportionate measures when addressing disruptions, ensuring that the fundamental rights of individuals are not infringed upon in the process. The city attorney later dismissed Teresa Borrenpohl's misdemeanor battery charge, and an investigation into the security officers' actions is underway.

  3. When I saw that video yesterday, I was pissed off. I couldn't believe that no one was helping her. They refused to identify themselves after asking if they are cops.

So, if someone is kicked out of a repub town hall, it is called fascism.

There are tons of videos just like that one of Dems kicking out repubs. What is it called then? Fascism?

Yeah, find us "tons of videos" just like this. Here's a video for you.

In the case of Teresa Borrenpohl here, the fact that private security forcibly removed her from a public event raises serious legal and constitutional concerns. She was not posing a physical threat, and they used force to silence her speech, that could be viewed as an unlawful restraint or even assault. The presence of the sheriff getting the security to do something he must know was not allowed is very authoratarian.

The security will now claim that they thought it was OK because the sheriff told them to act, and he is claiming he has nothing to do with them.

The police chief’s response suggests that local law enforcement saw it as a gross overreach.

I read she'd been asked to shut up, three times, and let the other 450 persons present hear what they came to hear.

Sure, though I'd watch the video from 4:30. As I said the background speaking matters and the police chief dropping charges and switching to the security guys too.

The incident started with her complaining about the town hall being a lecture, not a Q&A, which was itself a breach of norms by the organizer. Borrenpohl’s frustration was many would agree, understandable. A town hall, by definition, should involve dialogue, not just passive listening.

It then turned into a clash between free speech, decorum, and excessive force and surpression of dissent. A town hall should expect a level of disruption.

Her being a candidate matters in the larger context here too.

I'm looking for a start to finish recording but found this which details some of the atmosphere leading up in recent times involving the Sheriff in question and friends. Right wing on right wing.

Bad faith, name calling and dirty tricks from newcomers to ruffle the older school Republican establishment it appears? Messy local business anyway. Really dumb and even dumber, Marquort himself is no brain trust: https://patriothangout.net/the-plandemic-scamdemic/

Teresa Borrenpohl is a medical doctor however, which goes to explain her relatively level head.
