Facebook and Google were victims of $100M payment scam When the Justice Department announced the arrest last month of a Lithuanian who allegedly swindled more than $100 million from two U.S. tech giants, the agency didn’t say who was robbed. But Fortune Magazine has identified the two companies as Facebook and Google. (Fortune Magazine)
That is wild. You would think somewhere between $0 and $100m he would have figured out a good plan to disappear and enjoy that money. If he was sharp enough to pull that off he had to be sharp enough to know they wouldn't pay a fake vendor forever.
I think his arrogance got the better of him. He was sharp enough to swindle Google and Facebook and likely thought he was sharp enough not to get caught.
