Extremely annoying

    I've been trying to get access to the IBKR client portal for days with no luck. The stupid substitute form W-8BEN is on the way and all attempts to sign it have been futile. All attempts to contact IBKR and get help have failed too. Anyone else experiencing the same s..t? Why can't we sign and send this form on paper via the post.

    I wonder how many people go to IBKR headquarters and talk with them in person? :) What about sending over email or fax?

    guess that's why they have billions of dollars. there is some big wig here on the forum from ib pm him direct.

    No point creating a new nick to vent your frustration.
    Having intense negative emotion is bad for health and bad
    for trading.


    IB is not the only broker in this world.
    Do no insist and persist to use IB.
    Have you tried other brokers?
    There are many brokers to choose from actually.
    Go choose a broker that meets your requirement.

    Anyway IB has + and - points.
    It is up to you to explore.

    I had problem with my 2nd level authentication and have no access to my account and I called them and was put on hold for 30 minutes until the tech support can get to me. Since it's an international call, it was costly. But first, you have to roughly know what's in your account e.g. equity and cash balance before they proceed. So far, so good.
     
  6. This probably means that you did not tick all the boxes and did not answer all questions on the W-8BEN form.

    I did tick all the boxes and answered all relevant questions. The problem seems to be that the signature on the bottom left corner is not recognized and accepted, regardless if I type the name or copy and paste it. Can anybody give me a tip, since the IBKR are impossible to contact.

    There's a toll-free number, I used Skype to call. As I recall it was free.

    Korifey, I am also having a problem logging into the Portal from my PC (a Mac Mini) for 2 weeks. Same problem has happened at various times since I started using IB about 8 months ago. The IBKR app on my iPhone works OK and that's what I use to place orders, but I need to sometimes use the Portal from PC to get account statements etc.

    I try the Portal Login from PC, this results in the normal notification on my iPhone to use the IBKR app to show my fingerprint there which works OK as usual. Then the PC should proceed to get me into my account but the problem is nothing happens on the PC. I tried the same procedure on my iPad instead of the PC and same thing happens, I cannot get into the Portal from iPad. Is this similar to your Portal Login problem?

    Shouldn't be an issue and you should contact tech support. Alternatively you can try logging into the mobile app click authenticate or "services" top left to get you to the "authenticate" screen.

    Then on the portal "click here if you did not receive the message" under "A message has been sent to your phone...".

    It will then supply a challenge code.
    Enter the challenge code on the screen after you click authenticate
    Generate response
    enter the response string on the portal
