At a luxury home in Statesville -- complete with a pool and a trampoline -- in August and October 2018, more than 1,800 grams of meth were delivered from it, federal officials say. The person who lived there was Oscar Rangel-Gutierrez, a high-level cartel member, authorities say. A huge home in Troutman, according to the indictment, is owned by Rangel-Gutierrez' parents. Agents say a credible informant told the Troutman police department in 2014 that large amounts of cocaine were being stored at this address. Court documents say Rangel-Gutierrez and the five other suspects were in the country illegally. Agents say Rangel-Gutierrez transported 30 kilograms of cocaine "and an unspecified large quantity of methamphetamine in a one-month period from Texas to Georgia and North Carolina." According to court documents, an apartment in this complex in Hidden Valley, a home in Derita and a house in east Charlotte -- are all tied to the investigation. Agents say Oscar Rangel-Gutierrez and Regulo Rangel-Gutierrez stored drug proceeds at the house while they went to a night club. The suspects are tied to a man believed to be the main rival of notorious drug lord Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman. El Chapo was found guilty in U.S Federal Court last week on 10 counts and faces a mandatory life sentence.

The cartels will just waltz across the border and add guns to their menu in addition to drugs. The gangs and other criminals will still have guns and the mexican cartels will be happy to sell it to them. If you clamp down on gun makers then the people of mexico will become street gunsmiths like in the Philippines. The end result will still be the same, criminals will still have guns.
