The only requirement these days is an ability to drag your finger across a tablet screen. Swipe right for like, left for not like and for the more ambitious, 140 characters of monologue inclusive of hashtags. It's also a trend amongst corporations to dumb down their branding. Microsoft and eBay did recently and now I see this from Google: They've even depicted this logo change in dumbed down fashion. I mean, do we really want all logos to look as if they were designed by a child with a crayon?
Leftist government thrives upon the people being "dumbed-down and ignorant". No doubt about where we're headed as country, sadly.
I'm a huge believer in individualized computer courses for children. In my dream, each class would have 30 kids all the same age working at a computer with a teacher to guide them and maintain discipline. One 12 year old kid may still be working at the fourth grade level. The pretty girl sitting next to him may already be studying at the college level. Everybody that makes it to age 17 graduates. The graduation doesn't signify educational achievement, it just means you showed up every day for 12 years and you take your computer record with you, good or bad. If they didn't make it to the high school level scholastically, they can continue in an adult education class until they get it. They can still have a great football team and marching band and be involved in the community. An employer or college can easily see the computer record and help get the kid get into something that they can excel at. Whether it is restaurant management or astro physics. A little rough on a kid who is advanced to take him out of the class with all the friends he grew up with. He may even play dumb just to stay. This way, kids of all different degrees of education can learn together and play together and it seems to me people would find that comfort spot that makes them happy. Some are not too smart on school subjects but are born natural leaders. You just never know.
Classes mixed by age. Potentially a good idea, for at least two reasons I can think of: 1. Kids all of the same age (and approximately same ability) aren't much help to one another. 2. Teaching others (i.e. older kids helping younger) is actually an effective way to learn: like revision on steroids. EDIT: misread what you said. You said the opposite of what I thought you said. It's those fucking crayon logos. Have lost at least 8 IQ points in the last 30 minutes.
the "same age" is to teach kids social interaction. In my school there would be plenty of kids all different ages, just each class would have kids the same age. I doubt I would have ever made it past 7th grade if they had full blown high school senior girls in my class. Who needs an education when you can stare at something like that for an hour a day? and no, they would all be the same age, but wildly different abilities and levels on their computer classes.
Human evolution has been perverted, sidetracked... more or less hijacked. While Darwin definitely had it right citing what he coined as "survival of the fittest" what has happened here is that what defines "fitness" has changed. No longer does "fitness" mean physical and intellectual prowess but instead it has become a measure of social amicability. Those who excel today are more socially adept but less intelligent than our antecedents We have traded strategic intelligence for social skills. Less intelligent people have more children than intelligent people. Aggregate intelligence is dropping over time. Natural selection has moved away from physical attributes of speed, strength and agility as well. Humans are becoming marshmallows.
you're a smart man, just write a program that teaches it and give it to your grandchildren as a birthday gift. They will love you. "Oh thank you grandpa Richter! This beats the hell out of Grand Theft Auto!"
all these politicians, "We need to bring manufacturing back to America!" Yet I see very few of them hoping their kid can get a job in a t shirt or tennis shoe factory. They want manufacuring in USA, just not performed by their family or friends. I keep waiting, "If we are the most educated, we will never have to manufacture again. There will always be plenty of uneducated to do that work for us. And Viet Nam is a great place for them to live."
