"German Chancellor Angela Merkel no longer has enough coalition votes in the Bundestag to secure backing for Europe's revamped rescue machinery, threatening a consitutional crisis in Germany and a fresh eruption of the euro debt saga." by Ambrose Evans-Pritchard 8:07PM BST 28 Aug 2011 http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/...-out-in-doubt-as-hysteria-sweeps-Germany.html
The European nations are very close to losing the sovereignty they have left. If a national government loses control over its finances, it cannot really be considered a sovereign nation any longer. Its good to see that some of their leaders still have enough sense to object. Hopefully they will be able to maintain their will in the face of the coming crises which will be used to try to force Europe into fiscal union.
