I'm weighing the pros and cons of buying data on Eurex. The data is millisecond resolution, so it would be nice to know if it's feasible on a reasonable budget to get orders to the exchange in under a millisecond so I can make some assumptions about fills when I go to examine the data. I've contacted a few FCMs, but no one seems to have a presence in FR2. Equinix does, and I assume if--in the distant future--I were to install a gateway directly on a server at FR2, I could get sub millisecond. I asked them for a quote and am waiting to hear back. If anyone here knows of any other options, please let me know. I realize paying for colo only to get sub millisecond is foolish, but please remember that I'm only trying to decide whether buying millisecond resolution Eurex data is a smart choice at this time. If getting sub millisecond access to Eurex is only for big guys, I'll keep my money in my pocket and focus on CME. So in closing: my question is "does anyone have or know of any reasonable proximity or colo options that will get me sub millisecond access to Eurex?"
Thanks for the replies. What I consider reasonable is in line with or slightly lower than what it would cost to do this sort of set up through an FCM on CME. I mean if we're talking 5K, that's a mortgage obviously, but given that you'd need to rack up probably at least two to three times that amount in commissions to make this kind of setup pay, it's really not that bad. If it costs significantly more than a similar CME setup, then I'll begin to question if EUREX was feasible. For anyone searching for this info the future: I won't share what Equinix and EOTPRO quotes come out to, but you can obviously email them. I did find this from EOTPRO after considerable searching of ?their? (machinereadablenews'?) website.
