WASHINGTON (AP) - Congress is sending President Barack Obama a bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security through the end of the budget year, without overturning the president's immigration policies.
I'd say venal, sniveling, spineless, cowardly toadies pretty much sums it up. Of course as i've said all along, they WANT amnesty so it's not like they were ever going to fight obama too hard on it. The best thing republicans can do at this point is organize and vote against Jeb Bush, who is the most vocal presidential candidate pushing it. Actually, all the candidates support it in one form or another, but punishing Bush will send a message, not that they give a crap.
I get it that you guys are taking a victory lap here and i don't blame you. You suffer an historic loss in the by elections and the way things turn out, you might as well have won them. McConnell and the cowards in his caucus won't even block the confirmation of Eric Holder ver.2.0. There is seething anger boiling up in the republican base. They can screw us on amnesty and Obamacare and break all their campaign promises within weeks of the election. They can't force us to turn out and vote though. Maybe they're counting on all those illegals to vote for Jeb Bush. Good luck with that suckers.
American politics treats the most extreme viewpoints harshly, including yours. Trust me, I've been there.
It's very possible I won't have the option. Obama may well have seized power through decree by then, dismissed the congress and called off the elections. He's basically already done the first two, so cancelling the elections is the next logical step. I really wonder what Boehner and McConnell's response would be?
