    Hi,

If you have traded and left ETG during the last 2-3 years, and have been a foreign resident on H1B status, please PM me. I have recently left the firm and need to talk to some former ETG traders who have been on H1B. Your time and help is appreciated and might be compensated. Please PM instead of e-mail. Thank you very much.

I'm surprised that ETG sponsored you for an H1B. Most U.S. prop firms won't go through the hassle.

  3. Me too . Didn't know you could get an H1B visa for a "job" at a daytrading firm. Would you care to explain?

  4. 60 days to leave the country or find another sponsor.

Thank you for all who replied, but the answers weren't what I was looking for. ETG was kind to sponsor me and several other foreign nationals, due to the boom of the business (start of 2000). The way it works is they guarantee you a small salary, which will count as a draw against profits, and at the end of the year you are supposed to receive the difference between your share profits and the salary paid. I don't think ETG does it any more for novice traders. If you have a good trading record and do good volume many other firms will get you H1B status. I'm already employed by another firm, so I'm not worried about the H1B issue, the reason I started this thread is to get the chance to contact ETG H1B traders who have already left the firm regarding their compensation, specifically whether they received their share of profits upon leaving the firm.
