ET should ban the practice of bumping your own thread

  1. ET should ban the practice of bumping your own thread. There are two chronic offenders.

    Conservative Options Trades
    Breakout and Gap Stocks

IMO ....... Both threads should be locked since they provide no value to ET. They are being kept alive because the thread starter is bumping them constantly.

  3. You clearly spend too much time on ET.

  4. Here are some results with a Google search for: Bumping your own thread

    • Bumping your own thread is cheap. If your thread is good enough you won't need to. Make better threads.
    • Cross-posting and bumping your own thread is in bad taste and of course against forum rules.
    • I've noticed a lot of people are bumping their own threads, if no ones commenting then they probably are not interested. Any thoughts?
    • Bumping a thread means you are desperate...

Dude, in that first thread, the OP hasn't posted in over a year. It's other members keeping that thread alive.

Besides, aren't Journal threads allowed to be bumped by their starters? Pretty hard to keep a journal if you can't update it yourself.

  7. oldnemesis is danshirley

ET Soap Opera ............... danshirley got chased off of ET by Put_Master and came back as oldnemesis. danshirley picked the new ET handle oldnemisis because of his battles with Put_Master. OldNemesis = Old opponent or enemy.

I agree ...... Journals would be an exception to any "No Self Bumping" policy.

Not a big enough issue to care about right now. I don't seethe huge issue with those 2 threads - just don't read them.

It is a lot bigger thann those two threads. Buy1Sell2 and nitro are notorious self-bumpers.
