To help build credibility, I propose that Baron enhance ET by adding, like Amazon, Instagram etc has, Verified icons, for traders who can prove they currently trade real-money live accounts. Like all social media platforms, there are many who fake things. Here, it would be a big credibility boost to add verified icons. Logistics aside, what do you think of the idea? tip: posers and bullshitters will protest vigorously, us real traders will say its about time ----- HUGE benefit bc he can show proof his forum has REAL traders. only bullshitters would protest #truth only posers who whine and criticize but dont even fkg trade would protest #trolltruth this will be an EFFECTIVE acid test to separate who's REAL vs whos FollOfShit the bullshitter trollboys willcomplain vigorously. us REAL traders will welcome the upcomng, i hope, Verified Real Trader icon (like instagram, amazon verified purchaser, etc all have) https://icons8.com/icons/set/verified https://www.google.com/search?q=ver...i450l8.95741226j0j15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
for proof, traders could submit redacted 1099s like this, or better, do 1:1 zoom w/Baron where we login to our accounts live to show him recent trade confirmations in real money account.. make sense?
since EVERY major social media site does this, Amazon, twtr, instagram, dating sites etc there's certainly value in it. https://www.forbes.com/sites/forbes...get-verified-on-social-media/?sh=1542c78d4553 https://www.entrepreneur.com/scienc...uld-have-that-verifying-blue-checkmark/371742 https://bigthink.com/partnerships/get-verified-on-social-media/
It's a nice idea but forum owners would need to make the decision about that. It would probably create more work for them, but maybe it could be automated. Would it require a membership fee? I wouldn't mind a membership fee if it would eliminate the riffraff on here. You can tell a lot just by asking people to pay a fee, as the broke ones won't be able to afford it. You shouldn't let the people on here bother you. I know it's hard but it might be better to just ignore them, stop engaging them and drive on.
So you'd exclude anyone working for an institution. Personally, I don't even want to show my trades to tax authorities, never mind ET. I understand for you its about getting customers but for those not selling anything, it's not worth a thing.
No. It's simply about verifying who actually really trades, a very important distinction for a trading forum. And easily using zoom to login to an account takes less than 5 minutes. Also a big plus is it would significantly cut down the years old ET problem of one person using multiple nicks here. Or those who Baron bans but then use ip proxy to re-register with alias nicks. Like how Amazon has verified buyer icons, so readers can tell who to take seriously vs not. Or Instagram, re authenticity: https://help.instagram.com/733907830039577#:~:text=The meaning of the verified, for that person or brand. Only people who aren't real traders would object to this. https://www.pixlee.com/blog/the-brands-guide-to-getting-verified-on-social-media-in-2021 I like Twitter's idea of adding phone number verification, that would cut way down on the multiple nicks problem here https://help.twitter.com/en/using-twitter/twitter-blue
Do you ever sleep? There are REAL traders who would object, because this is a discussion forum and there isn't any reason to divulge earnings. If someone selling a course wants to prove their performance, they can setup a website for that. Telephone verification would not reduce multiple accounts since most people have more than one phone. Phones are a dime a dozen.
There's no reason to divulge earnings, merely that the person does really trade a live account. Most people do not have multiple phone lines. Phone verification is popular and common, to reduce multiple nicks.
