ET default time zone - Should be EST not EDT

IMO - When you are logged out the ET timestamps should be EST (Eastern Standard Time). I figure most traders think in that time zone since that's the time zone of New York and the major US markets. ET appears to be on EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) which doesn't take into account daylight savings time. So during daylight savings time the ET timestamps are off by 1 hour.

Possible change to consider, add EST to the timestamps.

    • Current default ET Timestamp: February 2nd, 2014, 10:10 PM
    • New default ET Timestamp: February 2nd, 2014, 10:10 PM EST

You're right. I didn't notice the time was an hour off for users that are logged out or unregistered. There was a server setting that needed to be changed so the default time should be correct now. Thanks!

  3. test, what is the timestamp now. 23:13

Looks like it's spot on. ;)

  5. No to me it looks bizar. I live in Europe timezone CET. It was 23:13 in this zone and the time on ET was 2:13 AM????? CET is normally 6-7 hours in advance. But I see 3 hours behind???? It should be 17:13 or something PM.

Your timezone is not set correctly in your settings. You need to go to your preferences page and adjust your timezone to (UTC+1.00) Central European Time.

  7. This is the setting from my timezone: UTC+01:00) Brussel, Kopenhagen, Madrid, Parijs

Which is what you suggest, so there is another problem....
My clock is also synchronized every day with the atomic clock.

When you look at the post you made above this one, what time does it say you posted it? And is that time different from the actual time you posted it?

  9. I checked it with a previous posting:
    i posted friday at 23:13
the posting said later: saturday 2:13 AM

But this is impossible because CET is ahead of the US time zones. So it is impossible to have a timestamp 3 hours later. Besides diffreence in timezones between CET and ths US is between 5 and 8 hours. 3 hours is impossible.

At this moment it is sunday 22:39 where i am posting now.
Wait till we see what timestamp my posting will receive.
At this moment it is sunday 16:39 in New York and sunday 15:39 in Chicago

I checked your account preferences and your timezone was set for Moscow, Russia. I changed it to reflect your local time zone so you are all set. :)
