ET clips text pasted into a post.

When you cut/paste text (usually from another webpage to quote an article), the new forum software clips the text and only a portion of it shows up when the post is submitted.

At this point you need to go back and edit your post to make all the text appear.

This occurs about 70% of the time when any lengthy cut / paste is performed for a post.

This has been reported already. I'm looking into it.

Could you try to paste something into this thread that got cut off on a prior attempt? I changed something so I want to see if it made any difference.

I will post my next attempt that happens. It also happens regularly when quoting.

    Baron,

I found one thing that causes posting to break consistently. If you cut/paste a sentence that has an unusual character in it - for example an apostrophe above an e in someone's name, or a double extended dash (similar to -- but all in one) --- then the post will end at the point where the character appears and the rest of the post will not appear. This occurs both when you "submit" originally or you attempt to "save" later.

The new ET Forum software probably is only supporting a basic English character set - it needs support for an extended character set to be enabled --- or at least this is my guess about the root cause of this particular issue.

    Thx - gwb
