Esignal to CQG Qtrader

As CQG Qtrader is being offered at an unbelievable $40 / month + data, I have to consider it as a candidate to replace eSignal. I don't intend to trade through it - only use it for charting, as a very cheap QCG IC, so the $0.25 per contract filled will not apply to me.

So questions to Qtrader users who are also familiar with eSignal:

    1. Does QTrader have the concept of time templates in eSignal, where you can specify the start and end times of the bars on a chart?

    2. Can you download and save ticks, and play them back later at various speeds?

    Thanks.

  2. As far as I know with CQG QTrader you can display one chart at time in a single chartbook

    I am aware of that.

Do you know if time templates and tick downloading are supported?

I like CTS better. Check out: http://www.ctsfutures.com/t4.aspx (T4 Desktop Platform)

$25/month +MD+$0.50/contract for execution with a cap of $500/month. If you would like my contact there for questions, PM me your email address and I'll send it to you.

Goodness, it's so difficult to get a straight answer on these boards.

Never mind, I'll download the demo version and work it out myself.

SierraChart provides both a replay function and the ability to filter your chart based on time parameters. It also does not limit you to one chartbook at a time as Q Trader would, so it may be able to provide more extensibility as far as analysis is concerned.

  8. When was the replay option initiated for it? I don't remember it having this, but maybe things have changed.

I'm not sure when it was specifically implemented, but you can read more about the functionality here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_ReplayChart.html From the screenshots it looks like it was introduced as early as version 995 (the current version is 1170)
