fomc always freezes esignal a little bit. Mine freezes for a sec or two before re-engaging. Generally this only happens in the first 5 mins after the announcement
Yep. It's an overpriced P.O S. I can't believe I keep paying for it month after month. The price of the scanners is also outrageous, they should be included in with the software.
I notice the lag also. I hate esignal, but I use metastock pro. Anyone find a feed that works with metastock, other than esignal or quotecetner? (need live feed, not EOD)
If you haven't upgraded[/ur] to at least version 10.3, I highly recommend you doing that if you are having performance issues. 10.3 runs much faster and "lighter" than previous versions 8.0, 10.0, 10.1 and 10.2. Our users are reporting much better performance since we released 10.3 and we can see the improvement ourselves in response times out to the desktop from our server farms. Thank you.
I have 10.3 and it did not fix the lag and freezing durring fomc. I also prepared for it by closing 95% of my quotes down and only having a few charts up but no dice.
If you do a title search using 'esignal problems' as the search terms, you'll see that eSignal has been telling its customers that 'we are working on the problems' and 'we are adding new servers' and 'we acknowledge that there have been issues' for the past 5 years. eSignal is an overpriced piece of crap. DTN/IQ is also not ready for prime time but there is no reason to pay eSignal's ridiculous fees for their crap data when you could pay half that to DTN/IQ. Try calling customer service sometime and tell them that their data is lagging. They will tell you it's your computer/internet feed/astrological sign. Of course, I'm talking about after market hours, because if you call during market hours, they simply won't answer the phone. Unfortunately, there does not exist a data feed under $200 that provides anything approaching an enterprise quality data afeed.
Freezing and lagging; what else is new. Go for Version 8 or another charting software if your computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements. Windows 2000, Windows XP, Vista Intel® Core⢠2 Duo, 2.0 GHz or faster 17" or larger dual monitors with 1024x768 resolution 2 GB RAM 40 MB available disk space DSL or cable modem Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 But I heard about users who just bought a new machine and esignal was still crashing.
i don't think it matters what kind of PC you got.....eSig will freeze up during open and closing and FOMC if you use T&S. I only use charts on Esig, which significantly reduces the lag/freeze.
