hello, i recently purchased the esignal service. I'm italian and they wrote me today to provide them a copy of my id. I was wondering why, they say is for compliance and not to match my credit card. and that is a normal procedure even for us customers. It sound strange to me, is not a bank account, why my id?
so do you consider it a normal request? first time in my life such a request for this kind of service you are from the uk? i don't think they would ask
Yes. They want to make sure you are the person paying. What if I take your credit card to pay for the service?
Because they are a data vendor and they are getting their data from the exchanges, they must comply with certain rules and regulations when distributing this data.
Uhm, I'm with @nikkktrader on this. He's not depositing money with them. He just wants information... That said, why wouldn't you give your id? They're big and well-known, so I wouldn't distrust them.
Yes, but it's for info delivery service right? He doesn't deposit any cash with them to trade... If I get an online newspaper subscription, do I also have to provide id?
