Hey guys, just wondering, I'm assuming ES trades in between its previous days close and the next day's open at night, right? I wonder how often it moves out of this range.
It trades outside that range at some point during most overnight sessions ... except on the occasions where the prior close and next open are the high and low of the overnight bar ... which happens very rarely.
The RTH session is superior due to higher volume, and at some point one has to sleep, preferably, 7-8 hours, so during the action at night I just get my beauty treatment
NY its actually become pretty interesting. While TF is right there is much more volume RTH...there often is quite a bit of movement especially during the opening of the European markets. The whole world trades the ES. I've also found many of my GTC ES option contracts get filled at night where they didn't fill during the day. IMO its trade able but much slower (usually).
Did a series of studies on afterhours ES price movement more than a year ago. First one is here, http://www.daytradingbias.com/?p=34784
