Musk responded to a video shared by the LibsofTikTok account showing migrants being dropped off from a yellow school bus to James Madison High School in Brooklyn. "School is closed tomorrow because illegals will be sleeping in the school’s gym. This is disgraceful! NYC is prioritizing illegals over Americans," LibsofTikTok wrote. Musk doubled down, writing, "They’ve run out of hotel rooms, are kicking kids out of school for illegal housing and now they want your homes too."
Elon is bullshitting. Migrants are housing in tents during the summer. Floyd Bennett Field used to be a small airport and now a USMC Reserve Center and NYPD train ground are nearby. The weather was bad this week, snow and high winds, luckily it is a warm winter comparing to last year. The shelter at Floyd Bennett Field is one of more than 200 sites New York City has established to house the surge of migrants arriving in the city since 2022 — largely as part of a busing campaign by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, who is seeking stricter security at the southern border. New York, which has a legal obligation to provide emergency housing to anyone who asks for it, has struggled to respond to the thousands of people arriving in the city.
