Wandering in thought, I was thinking that a decent president should make eliminating government waste on spending a high priority. That got me to thinking back about how they spent a ton of money researching and developing pens that could work in the zero-G environment of space, for shuttle and ISS missions and the like. Probably millions of dollars. Maybe even tens of millions of dollars, to develop such an ink-based writing device. And of course, the video analogy came up in my head, as they usually do. So Captain Miller (Tom hanks) is the POTUS, and Offam is the collective group of scientists spending all those millions of dollars to develop the perfect space-pen. Wait for it...
The president increasing the deficit from 600 billion a year to a trillion a year and giving trillions in tax cuts to the rich is a bigger problem that needs to be dealt with first imo.
It may be a bigger problem, yes, but that is a separate problem. I think the overspending problem would be easier to tackle at the outset, because that is all internal expense shit.
