So he was a narcissistic alpha control freak who couldn't stand to share responsibility with a highly regarded partner (Chuck de Lardemelle). Feel bad for his wife and children.

  4. Thanks for sharing.

This raises the question: Is your Identity so wrapped up in what you do? I try to separate my platforms and my purpose. My platforms are the businesses I am engaged in but my purpose is always about positively impacting others and encouraging them to be the best versions of themselves.

But a somewhat related question is whether you care what others think of you? I like to paraphrase David Goggins who said if you don't care what other people think of you, you become dangerous -- essentially you have a freedom and inner peace that so few people have. Ultimately, the only one I have to answer to is God. Sometimes we just have to remind ourselves of that.

I think it all depends on persons mind set. Some would fight to bitter end to stay alive no matter the odds. Other would kill themselves over loosing some amount of money. The sad irony, even with all losses he probably be on top of 1% of our country anyway.

This guy did not lose personal wealth - the fund he was overseeing had clients taking their money out after he let his highly regarded partner walk.

My response is all of the above. LOL Ego creeps up in every facet of life. That's natural and normal. The goal is not to suppress it but to recognize it and manage it and even make it to be a positive driving force.
