We have a class of people. These men have spent most of their adult lives, if not most of their entire lives spending everyday training to fight, in a sport we call mixed martial arts, also known as MMA. They also have a very large audience that cheers and follows them. These men may not be warriors but I believe it would be fair to call them fighters. Some of these men decide to castrate themselves and identify as a woman. I would appreciate if we could avoid discussing an adult deciding to identify as the opposite sex, and whether that should be praised, ridiculed, or is just the trendy thing right now like the tribal tattoos... but it gets more better! So some of these fighters decide they should continue to compete. But do so as the sex they identify with rather than the sex they were born as They are not only allowed to do so, but some may be even praising them for doing so??? I'd leave it to the people who manage these things for a living to answer these questions, as should you, but I'd say the weight divisions are part of the answer, and the agents' typical responsibility in avoiding grossly mismatched fighters is another.
It's batshit crazy. How you identify in your head on gender is not the same was what your genetic makeup defines. On rare occasions you will get a woman stronger than the same-categorized man, based on height, BMI, etc etc etc. But the male body produces different steroids than a female body. Flipping it in your head does not make you a woman. It makes you a man who loves to beat the shit out of women. It is the epitome of misogyny.

These sports have always used weight divisions, so yes the two competing fighters would already be in the same weight class. I feel maybe the agents and even the fighters and possibly even the owners fear bad publicity and feel they have no choice. basically being ruled by mob mentality (aka herd mentality). but thats just IMHO... Thats why I am wondering how anyone can be okay with this let alone be supporting it. But I am interested in hearing the arguments.
