What? "Spending every dime, for a wonderful time"? ("Puttin' on the Ritz" -- Taco) We should all do a "Thelma and Louise" just so Trump can celebrate the appearance of MAGA? Does Trump not understand the notion of the Roman Candle? Are we ever again going to practice fiscal/monetary responsibility in America?? (I understand they intend to confiscate all of the wealth and enslave us*, but couldn't they at least use a little lube?) *This is not a novel idea. In case you don't know, it has been the primary objective of Leftist elites all across the world and throughout the history of "civilization".
Agreed. Total idiocy. This is the number one reason I won't support Trump this coming election (unless the democrats nominate a total lunatic and I have no choice).
I don't understand why lowering rates would hurt if there's no inflation. What's wrong with letting the economy go ballistic for the next few years. Imagine what 12 quarters of 5% plus GDP would do for trimming the budget deficit. What am I missing? Something I'm sure.
Housing... Rates need to be more closely linked to the housing market like they used to be. This all went off the rails around 2004 when the housing market overheated and the Fed failed to regulate and kept the accelerator pedal mashed to the floor. The "value" of my home literally doubled in one year. We all knew there was something terribly wrong but George Bush and Alan Greenspan simply refused to put the brakes on. The Fed stopped doing its job and became a throttle to be used by whomever held power. I'm not sure what Trump is doing except accessing that throttle to goose the economy. I think rates should be used to keep the housing market from blowing up which is not currently an issue. The housing market is soft. Leave rates as they are or even tighten a bit. That would be the conservative thing to do.
My concern would be that once inflation starts gaining momentum, it would be hard to it slow down, especially in a tight labor market. The precious metals had a good day today as is to be expected when both equities and bonds are up decently.
A Democrat will likely support more gun legislation, not support family separation at the Mexican border, not support voter id laws that prevent homeless from voting, not support a Muslim ban, and support higher estate taxes for the wealthy. Why would you ever vote for a democrat when you support most of trump’s signature policies?
