ETrade seems to time out pretty quickly and prompt for re-login. Does anyone know what the default setting is? and where/if it can be changed? I searched their help and couldn't find anything.
You can set it in My Info/Account Preferences. The choices are 30 minutes or 2 hours. There are 4 trading platforms you can use, too, so you may want to try one of them - they don't seem to time out, at least during the day.
its a bit different on the https://us.etrade.com web page in 2025 its in Profile, Security Settings, manage timeout preferences max is 4 hours now.
