Hi there, I installed my 2nd monitor via a VGA/USB adapter. Everything looked great. I could move some contents from monitor 1 to monitor 2. But I found a problem. When I went for lunch and came back, the whole screen of monitor 2 moved back to monitor 1 automatically. My monitors didn't stay how I set them up in windows after just logging off. So I had to moved them to monitor 2 again. I thought it might be because of the power went into sleep. But I changed power option it still happened. Do you have an idea? Thanks a lot!

  2. I suggest buying a PC with a dual port video card.

It's your power settings on your laptop I assume. I'm also assuming you have a laptop.

If you change the settings so that the laptop is always on (like a PC) it'll overheat the laptop and cut it's service life down quite a bit. If you are willing to do that then just go into the power settings in the control panel and (what operating system are you running??) set the machine to "always on" or Control Panel >> Power Options >> Highest Performance. Next tell your laptop to stay ON or "Always ON" while it's plugged in.

Hi thanks for your reply. My computer is HP desktop not a laptop. I already changed the power option to "never". But the two monitors just kept swithing from each other after I went away. Any idea? Thanks.

  4. The VGA-USB adapter is iffy.

Get a dualport video card. Virtually any el-cheapo card with proper ports for your monitors will do.

  5. Is your screen saver disabled?

Thanks for your help. Yes, it was because of the screen saver. But why ?
