Don't buy the crypto, buy the company issuing it...

  1. For those wanting to add crypto to their portfolio, but not 100%, here's an alternative:

CI Financial issues the best of the best Bitcoin & Ethereum ETFs on the Toronto Stock Exchange. They have the lowest MERs and a lot of different flavours, including the ability to trade options on their ETFs, and even flavours of Bitcoin/Ethereum that pay dividends.

It's not just crypto they are king with, they also hold word famous REIT ETFs and in many other sectors. Basically they have been in direct competition with BlackRock & Vanguard for a while now.

Instead of buying crypto, why not buy equity (in the issuer)? CI Financial pays a 5% yield and at a very good PE right now of only 6.7

The Nasdaq tech-wreck of 2022 and crypto margin-fallout has really suppressed the stock value for the year:

Feel free to critique... I may at least sell some PUTs if not purchase outright soon.

Nope, buying BITO or if bearish BITI makes more sense.

I don't think CIX has anything to do with the ETFs
As far as I can figure out Horizons issues the ETF and Horizon is ownwd by Koreans

  5. Bito is NOT a spot ETF. It is based around futures and will cost you dearly in the long run.

wrong again. what cost people dearly was being long crypto at all, not some imaginary futures expense

I've never seen a reason to invest for the long run. Buy when it starts going up and stay with the trade until the trend changes.
Might trend for a long time but why hold on to an asssett that is losing value?
Buying a stock that's falling because it pays a dividend. :banghead::banghead::banghead::rolleyes:

  8. You're effectively saying you can time trends.

Never catch the bottom or the top. Take a little out of the middle while it's trending.
Get out with a small loss when I'm wrong.
