Dont believe them when they said they care about the Constitution....

  1. AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Texas' education board voted Friday to allow Bible-infused teachings in elementary schools under optional new curriculum that could test boundaries between religion and public classrooms in the U.S.

All they care about is shoving religion down your throat...

Dems want trans and DEI issues put upon you while the majority of GOP white Christians want a religious state....to hell with the 1st Amendment amirite.

If you want your kid to learn about bibles and such, go to church, transfer to a religious school or read it at home....otherwise keep your religion to yourself. Don't Say Bible!

Let's see who really cares about the Constitution :).

I agree with that. Modern democracies cannot run with Religious public schools. You don't want sharia like laws here. I had friends that I went to school with that transferred to Parochial Catholic schools. Their curriculum was full of Bible Study classes. You don't want that in the public schools.

I think high schools that have a big budget could offer religious studies as an elective. They had that where I went to school in central New Jersey (East Brunswick). History of religion is an important topic to learn about since it has been so influential historically. I took European History in high school and a large chunk of that was the Crusades & the reign of the Papacy during the middle ages.

Amercian Catholics are weird though, I think they get in competition to emulate parts of Baptist and evangelical offerings. There should be no significant bible study in a Catholic school, that's just inviting misunderstanding :) Catechism and doctrine is what kids get with the odd glance at the bible and the priest quoting it at them in mass.

If you want to actually read the thing, do a primary degree and then take theology.

America set a new mandate. Christianity for everyone! If you don't like it, you can go back to your country.

Harvard... founded by a Puritan to train clergy(1).
Princeton... shaped in it's formative years by a seminary which was founded by a Reverend(2).
Yale... founded by clergy to instruct ministers in theology(3).
    " Dartmouth
    " University of Pennsylvania
    The list is very long.

I can think of worse things than teaching about religion, values and ethics in schools. Good All teachers should know the difference between indoctrination and education. "Liberals" no longer even understand what a liberal education actually is.

If you want to argue against... take vouchers and send your kid to any school you want. Personally, I go a step further. You brought them into the world, you pay to educate them any way you see fit.

Send them to gangsta' rap twerk school for all I care, just don't expect me to pay. Hell, I like gangsta' rap and twerking dancers!

Penn was founded by Ben Franklin and Ben was pretty atheistic for the day.

Prior to that schools were founded by churches because they were the only ones who could read. We are much better off without religion in our education system.

Yes, Penn was founded by Franklin in "a great preaching hall for George Whitefield, a traveling Anglican evangelist"(1).

The mistake you repeatedly make nwm, here and in other matters (like forecasting the election), is you don't understand nuance.

Leaving things out of an education, be it religion or otherwise, detracts from the education... by definition.

  9. This is why we need to support school vouchers.

So that everyone can go to the religious or secular option of their choice.

We already have a state religion in our schools. It is called secular humanism.
