They were just giving a "warning shot" to the world.

If they don't see change, the next boycott will longer...much longer...maybe a full blown season strike.

Pro sports have a history of cancelling their entire season just because of "contract disputes" about the pay.

I'm a hard-core hockey and baseball fan. I still remember like it happen yesterday when the NHL cancelled its season in 2004 - 2005 and the 1994 - 1995 Major League Baseball strike...

It got ugly if you're a sports fan. If you're not a sports fan, you probably won't remember those strikes.

The MLB strike caused a loss for the team owners about $580 million in ownership revenue and $230 million in player salaries. I think there was about $275 million dollars lost in the NHL strike.

Both strikes had such an impact on the team owners...it resulted within the next two years the most team ownership changes or new investors with a better understanding of the players salaries versus the ownership revenues.

Good, let them cancel everything, no dribble no paycheck. The NBA has shown the world it’s hypocrisy, owners and players alike.

Its more than the NBA...other sport teams are following suit. Players always win because most know how to be poor.

In contrast, owners do not know how to be poor. I remember the MLB strike...many players went back to their home country to play baseball to stay active and make a little money.

Just the same, a lot of foreign athletes playing in the American sports but less so in the NBA.

Social unrest is the last thing team owners want especially after already losing a ton of money because of the Pandemic.

Business at this point in time does not know how to operate without placating the Leftist, BLM extortion racket. You’ll either kowtow or we’ll ruin your business. Problem is, it’s never enough. At the onset, people had empathy for this civil rights movement, but the continued scorched earth mindset of rabid Left is quickly turning the narrative into one of distain and disgust.

It's not about a civil rights movement. It's about a distrust for the government and its policing.

You know when there's a problem when the whispering within the military is getting louder.

I rather see sports people unrest than military unrest...the latter typically results in a coup in most countries. Just be glad you don't live in South America, Cuba or Asia.

You would have a new government by now or a civil war.

If things keep going in this direction much longer, it will be the government “ the Federal Government and it’s Military” doing the policing with the full cooperation and blessing of the people.
