I thought this was a very good explanation of the reason the dollar was so strong.. would love to hear others ideas... http://www.businessinsider.com/why-the-dollar-is-strong-2015-1 yen, peso , euro.. all got hit relative to the dollar.. anyone trading currency on these fundamentals?
There has been no deflating the U.S. dollar and its strong run may possibly continue. Read more: http://www.businessinsider.com/why-the-dollar-is-strong-2015-1#ixzz3j8LTIxMo ??? "it's strong run may possibly contimue"???" oh, that's brilliant! What the heck fundamentals do you think we are trading on?
Maybe your trading the Parabolic price rise of the dollar before the great collapse... Hell everyone is drinking the keysian Koolaid..
everyday I try to get short the dollar, but I keep getting stopped out and my system keeps getting me long. If I wasn't making so much money it would be getting really old. Who in their right mind would buy dollars when they are just built on a house of cards supported by some rich bankers who call themselves The Federal Reserve? Beats the heck out of me, but I seem to end up buying them almost every day.
"Who in their right mind would buy dollars when they are just built on a house of cards supported by some rich bankers who call themselves The Federal Reserve?" Reason #3,847 to check your opinion(s) at the door when trading. To those who actually believe the quote above and can't let go of their need for fundamental reasoning to place a long trade in the U.S. Dollar, maybe you should make yourself familiar with something called an imminent interest rate hike.
Seems to me an interest rate hike would strengthen the $USD. After all, aren't we the "cleanest dirty shirt"?
I don't know how much of the imminent rate hike is already priced in. I know when dx gets around 100 things stop working right. At the moment, USD can absorb just about anything they can throw at it. I would say GBP is the cleanest shirt.
