DOJ won't prosecute contempt citation against Barr and Ross
Washington (CNN)The Department of Justice won't prosecute the attorney general or Commerce secretary after the House voted earlier this month to hold them in criminal contempt, Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen said Wednesday.

In a letter to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Rosen described the department's "long-standing position" to not prosecute an official for contempt of Congress "for declining to provide information subject to a presidential assertion of executive privilege."

  2. The DOJ should prosecute Barr for contempt. Then again, Barr would probably end up as lead attorney for the prosecution. After all, conflicts of interest seem in vogue nowadays. Besides, some politicians think they can pardon themselves and others follow along like the bobbleheads they are.

Maybe someday basic foundational principles will be a component of policy decisions again instead of self-serving partisanship we have seen on both sides.
