With the new etf's it makes no sense as far as utility, but what about return? On 10 btc or $1,000,000 you could be earning upwards of 300-600k per year in bitcoin tracking dividends.
BTC doubled in 2024 with BITO up 65% including divs. Ask your mom where the dividend comes from and what will happen to BITO’s payout in a bear market in crypto. It’s an IQ test and we’re not even discussing taxation.
The IQ test is how you think an asset that earned ZERO over 3 years can compete with a portfolio that earned 600k in the same time lol. 100k into dividends (WITOUT DRIP) will be worth 1.9M in 10 years with modest expectations. With 50k dividend reinvested it would be worth 3.7M What would 100k into bitcoin today be worth in 10 years? Maybe 1M at best? Either way the portfolio is outperforming Bitcoin. You can't beat the accumulating affect of passive income.
You can't argue with the numbers buddy... Hate to rain on your hodling parade but the days of bitcoin lambo's are over unless you can already afford one lol and that doesn't count.
loser, where do the divs come from? It underperformed the asset in 2024. It will continue to do so. Don’t start stupid threads.
Bitcoin does better than BITO. You're acting like the price of BITO will track the price of bitcoin even after the div payment is paid. As mentioned above, where is the div coming from?
Yeah barely...124% to 115.83% during a post halvening year lol. Also, why are we singling out BITO? I said bitcoin tracking etf's. Bitcoins annual average return over 10 years is 77.0% There are plenty of dividend earning etfs and stocks that can return that yield. If bitcoin rises to 150k in the next 2 years, my portfolio is running at a bitcoin beta >1. P.S let's not forget you can earn tax free dividends, and pay no capital gains from a TFSA, another plus to holding etfs over bitcoin. AND what about when the rest of the governments follow the Dutch and implement an unrealized capital gains tax for crypto? That would mean you guys will have to liquidate, while I will be loading up on cheap shares!
