does Ameritrade allow traders to trade before the three day settlement? IB does curious if Ameritrade does.
It appears they do, but I think you get no leverage. The margin is just to handle the Regulation T issue. Everyone lets you trade using unsettled funds unless you're in the 90-day penalty box for free-riding, but you're still liable for free-riding violations (which are triggered by selling an equity bought with unsettled funds that are still unsettled at the time of sale). Are you saying that IB lets you trade in a way that won't trigger a free-riding violation?
