Summary: The DOD has brought charges of premeditated murder against a former Green Beret officer for killing a Taliban bomb maker in 2010. He had previously been reprimanded over the incident but no charges brought. He admitted to the killing during a lie detector test administered as part of a CIA job interview, then later also talked about it in a TV interview.

He justified his actions on the grounds that the terrorist would likely kill Afghan informants.

Trump has now become involved after several congressmen raised the issue.

At the request of many, I will be reviewing the case of a “U.S. Military hero,” Major Matt Golsteyn, who is charged with murder. He could face the death penalty from our own government after he admitted to killing a Terrorist bomb maker while overseas. @PeteHegseth @FoxNews

This case is stark evidence of why we should stay out of these sand wars and shithole rebellions. We send these heroes over there to face death and mayhem, then we let asshole lawyers stab them in the back. We're not serious about winning. Do you think the Taliban have a lot of trials for killing americans?

Why are we still in Afghanistan 17 years later? Haven't we learned anything from all these failed interventions? It's amazing how little the media talk about it. We're still sending young idealistic men from flyover country over there to get killed, blown up or second-guessed by lawyers in the Pentagon who has never been shot at. Isn't it at least as important as Trump boinking a porn slut? We know the republicans are sold out totally to the defense contractors, the Saudi's and the Israeli's, but I guess they bought the media as well. All this time I thought the Chinese owned them but maybe not.

Hairy stuff right here. Where he made his mistake was openly talking about it in public. Can’t have that. It completely ties the hands of the DOD.
