Do you trade laying down

Discussion in 'Trading' started by shots fired, Mar 7, 2016.

  1. I feel like it's wrong. But I do it because I am able to focus better. When I am sitting in the desk chair, I get bored and I become unfocused. But for some reason when I am laying on the bed with my lap top on my lap, and my legs propped up under a stack of pillows, I am more focused. Am I breaking any cardinal rules about trading? Am I am weirdo?

If you can make money from the hot tub, I say go for it.

  4. I found I am more mentally alert...ever since I switched to one of those modern standing desks.
(sitting down alot really cramps your mood and style, not to mention not healthy for you)

It's good to switch to different positions (sitting, standing, laying down)...to keep an open mind -- which is kind of Vital in trading.
It's important to get different perspectives, quite literally and figuratively.:rolleyes:

If i am trading in the middle of the night, i am going to be doing it propped up with pillows in bed.

Go see a doctor for a health checkup to ensure you're in good physical health just in case your use of the words bored and unfocused is your way of saying tired and lack of exercise...especially if that boredom and unfocus tends to occur at a consistent time duration of the day.

Also, try trading while sitting on a big balloon ball, trading at a standing desk and make sure you're getting proper exercise and eating right...that includes breaks during the trading day to move around in your office.

Think of how many traders set their auto-trades overnight and then go to sleep.

  8. Relaxed is the key and if laying down helps you get there, go for it. I generally use a standup desk but will walk away and trade from my phone if that what it takes to get the proper mindset.

Past eight years recouping from one procedure or another, I have traded in so many different positions, outrageous. But I like treadmill in front of laptop, eating lunch at needle in San Antonio while it rotates, but I have to say standing is the best, stay focused better as am sleepy most of the time anyway. I like Starbucks too, but others like waiting for me to show up and then I can't concentrate. Even tried trading upside down once, was on devise that stretches back, royal headache.

Prefer trading on a mobile device on a beach surrounded by hot topless totty, sadly only 2 weeks of the year, I do better aswell the view stops me getting bored then placing stupid trades.
