Are interest rates futures good candidates for trading in a bearish stock market? I have never bought any interest rate futures contract before. I am newbie to fixed income futures. My newbie opinion is that rate futures would be a good alternative to stocks as interest rates futures tend to zig when stock market index zag. Not always but more often that not. Am I wrong?
Long interest rate futures made a lot of money for CTAs in 2008 when stocks were crashing. At least I am not wrong in 2008 when it really mattered.
