If DNA is just the encoding of information on how to build a human being [really every living thing we know of], why can't we replace it with technology whose compression and storage capacity dwarfs it? In other words, once we understand how a coding of a strand of DNA manipulates proteins to turn chemicals into animals, why not massively increase the storage to encode for things like your parents and grandparents and really all of your ancestral history experiences? Then a brain and maybe even body is born with memory. So instead of passing money to your children, you are passing your experience, thoughts, feelings, knowledge etc. This gives new meaning of immortality through your children. Then human beings wouldn't be born stupid and the acceleration from newborn to toddler to adult would be exponentially accelerated. Ducks are born essentially knowing how to swim. What if your child was born knowing how to play tennis (because you know), etc? The way that nature has encoded the passing of information is archaic. We should hack it. [There would probably have to be some editing to keep out the "bad"]
Technology today moves too slowly. We get all excited about the iPhone X. I am more interested in massive changes in the transformation of what it means to exist and enrich that through our own transformation, either through knowledge, or transformative evolution. Today, people don't want to be forced to have the gender they were born with. Why not take that to the extreme? What if I wanted to be able to breathe under water? We used to have gills in our evolutionary history. Etc.
