Hi all, I installed the latest IB TWS version as I was informed that the API won't work with earlier versions after Apr 31st, but now it seems impossible to disable the auto log-off function which was possible by manually editing the tws.xml configuration file in the past, anyone has any suggestion what to do?
IB broke something! What next? I wonder if they did this on purpose, closed a "vulnerability". IB has been breaking things for decades.. I'd like to hire a team of psychologists and investigate and find out how a team can be sooo... it's like they don't care about the customers very much, aren't aware of quality, take no pride in their work... maybe they are in a union or something? Or it's "The Canadian Way" [are the programmers in Canada?]. There's a book in this for Michael Lewis!
I'm not sure whether I'm missing something, but on their website they say it's packaged with TWS - how to select which one to start? https://www.interactivebrokers.com.hk/en/?f=/en/software/installationInstructions.php?ib_entity=hk
Another issue: How to configure order profiles etc., when using IB Gateway? Is this still done through TWS?
It must be some government experiment. I don't think they could make an uglier, more buggy program if they tried. I mean how hard would it be to make an interface that didn't look like an asshole?
looks like an asshole? TWS is maybe the most advanced order entry terminal in the world which offers access to most asset classes, valuation tools, access to order algos, position and order management, account management to just name a few out of the hundreds of features. Show me a single terminal that can do all that, that does not block or shut down when markets get shaken, that hardly ever crashes (nowadays, at least not for me). Every product in this world has imperfections and flaws but you seem to not see the forest for all the trees that blur your vision.
