Direction to take with system design

  1. Hi,

After trying to manually trade I started coding my systems so I can automate and backtest them. It seems its very hard for me to create a lasting intraday edge because of changing conditions.
I can create a system that works with PF2+ for 2 years intraday but when conditions change it starts losing. I have also not yet succeeded in filtering the conditions properly using volatility, trend or any other measure.

Therefore I am thinking about 3 main directions I could focus on:
    1. Put the effort in succeeding with the intraday strategies, by better filtering conditions or creating a more stable system.
    2. Focus on the daily TF but spread out on many instruments to get more trades. It seems I am able to design long lasting systems for daily charts.
    3. Use intraday strategies that worked during the last 3 months and retire them when conditions change.

Nr.3 seems a little unconventional and risky so its more of a wild idea.

Thankful for any advice on this.
