Direct transfers between brokers

A European trader uses broker A to trade futures.
The trader now wants to trade stocks too but broker A does only do futures.
So the trader wants to move cash from his futures account with broker A to a new broker for trading stocks.
Can the money be transferred directly from broker A to broker B?

Why are you not asking customer service of the broker?

Because they probably are not happy if I switch part of my trading to another broker. Loss of commission.
As they might have some financial interest to keep my money with them, they might not give me the correct answer.

If I have an answer from ET I will check it with them. And if it is impossible to transfer it directly, I don't even have to bother them.

as far as I know, the $$$ has to go back to the same source

due to regulation/money laundering concerns ...

No, you can transfer your whole account to another broker directly.

But I want to do a partial transfer in cash. Money I don't need in future trading can generate money in stocks trading elsewhere.

What do you mean with "to the same source?" The same bank account or the same owner?
The money does not have to go to the same bank account, can be another account from the same owner.

How can it be money laundering? It goes from one broker to another. They both have to check for money laundering, so when the money arrived at the first broker it already had to be clean. Broker B gets the money from broker A, so it can never be money laundering.

You should not expound on a subject where you have limited expertise. Your statement happens to be true in very limited circumstances but is not the general rule.

    Ask the receiving broker.

Didn't decide yet which one to take. Want first to know the correct answer on my question.

  9. Generally yes. The request would be initiated from the receiving broker's "transfer of assets" department. But since this is a cash transfer my advice would be to move it yourself as this would be faster and less prone to error as the transfer of assets process.
Wire/transfer cash to yourself then set up an incoming wire at receiving broker.
