Too much of my portfolio is already loaded up with banks... I don't want to touch that sector and risk getting even more over-weighted.
So it's been 1+ mth. since that May 4 incident, is there still want to buy Option Put on this sector? Do you people think the whole crisis is over
To be honest, The Great Financial Crisis is not even over. We only kicked the can down the road with never-ending QE rescues (which were PROMISED to be a one-time only event)! The problems that Greece caused is not even over... and that's after sucking down all of Europe to bail its greedy liberal voter/politicians out. But as for PUT options, I don't think there has ever been a time I have BOUGHT PUTs, aside from a fat-finger order. Now if I had the same resources and insider information as Dalio or Soros, then that would open other possibilities.
I've got really long dated KRE puts I bought back at the end of March. I'll sit on those for quite some time. Around the same time frame, I took out much shorter timeframe puts on MCB, VLY, NYCB, HBAN, etc... The MCB ones did really well, the others, not so much.
Betting against "conventional wisdom" is what works. Not against politics, politicians or their self anointed political boogiemen. Anyway banking crisis has been over for a while ... until the next one.
