Serves them right. LOL DeSantis vetoes $35 million for a Tampa Bay Rays facility after they tweeted about gun control, saying it is 'inappropriate to subsidize the political activism of a private corporation' (msn.com) Gov. Ron DeSantis vetoed $35 million set aside for a new training facility for the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays last week posted statistics on gun violence after the mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas. DeSantis said he opposed using taxpayer dollars to "subsidize the political activism of a private corporation."
Except that's not what happened. I understand that's the left wing media's attempt to paint DeSantis as a tyrant, but no.
Interesting that DeSantis never in his tenure as governor cut funding to any other professional sports team in the state. I guess DeSantis just hates American things like Baseball and not having children mass murdered at school. He will cut your funding if you don't support his gun narrative.
Can you show where he has approved budget funding to national sports teams in the past? I understand you're ass-hurt at him being so popular and you being wrong about everything, but saying he likes having children mass murdered is a bit over the top, don't you think, keyboard warrior?
Can you show a single time he has cut a budget item involving a professional sports team in Florida besides this one. Just find one example.
I'm not the one calling this an exception. You insinuated it. So show how this is an exception. If you can, you might have a case. But you can't. You're just talking out of your ass - as usual. The governor stated he doesn't fun national sports teams with taxpayer money in the budget. That's good enough for me. If you're going to call him a liar, show me where.
Expect in all the previous instances he has funding national sports teams with taxpayer dollars. He has been called out for it in social media... I am just waiting for the articles from mainstream media sources that provide an overview from a respected outlet.
I think DeSantis has a point...entities getting state subsidies shouldn't be involved in partisan politics.
He does, but that's not why he held back funding. At least according to him. You and I may agree with that perspective, but we should understand why someone does something. If DeSantis isn't consistent and awards other teams money then people like the NPC might have a point that DeSantis is reacting to a tweet - which would make him questionable here. But that doesn't seem to be the case.
